Krishnakanta Sandikai, Prajna aru Pratibha

This work offers an objective evaluation of the life and massive scholarship of the world-renowned Sanskrit polymath Krishna Kanta Handique. Adhering to rigorous research methodology, the book introduces 27 source materials, including books written on Handique, memoirs, contemplative essays, and personal recollections. Chapter one covers Handique's birth, family lineage, social-political background, education, and his higher education and linguistic studies in various parts of Europe. Chapter two details his return to India, managing his father Radhakant Handique's tea estates, serving as the principal of J.B. College, and his contributions to expanding higher education in Northeast India as the first Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University. Chapter three introduces his books and essays individually, while Chapter four evaluates his scholarship as a translator, literary and art critic, textual critic, and lexicographer. An Assamese edition of this work has been prepared for students, researchers, and intellectuals.
